Learning the Ropes

On Saturday the 6th of June Kinderstrand played host to some of the children, parents and teachers from Christian Family College. We were eager to "break in" some of our updated safety equipment and our visitors were more than willing to be guinea pigs! We enjoyed watching a couple of the more daring parents line up to have a turn on the High Ropes and humbly take instructions from our brilliant guides - Sipho and Dougie. The Low Ropes and Climbing wall also got a good work out and the morning finished off with a lunch of hamburgers, chips and fruitjuice - and not before time according to some of the hungrier youngsters!

It is exciting to be a part of the morning meetings at Kinderstrand these days. Ideas for new and exciting activities are part of each get together. Our newest thought is on how we can encourage visitors and holidaymakers on the Lower South Coast to enjoy Kinderstrand as much as the school groups do. We are exploring various ways that visitors can also enjoy a morning of adventure on the High Ropes, Low Ropes, Climbing Wall and even the Zip Line for the extra daring!

Abraham Kriel groups visit Kinderstrand

What we enjoy most at Kinderstrand is entertaining children from orphanages and places of safety. We recently had some little ones from one of the Abraham Kriel group of orphanages in Gauteng. Most of them had never seen the sea before and had a wonderful few days with us along with 5 German students, travelling with them and helping to look after them. Some local businesses and families donated funds towards this holiday but everyone who supports Kinderstrand is also assisting children like this and enriching their lives.
